Generic Names or Brand Name Domains?
A domain name that matches your brand name is very important. The very name that you use to advertise your product or service is the name that you will want for your domain, because that is the first thing that people will type in their Internet browser.
It is also the easiest thing for them to remember, and whatever is easily remembered, will be more likely to be typed in than an obscure domain name. So, if you specifically sell Dayora Widgets, then you should get a domain name that says so, instead of one that just says Widgets.
You could compromise and have a number of websites selling different things with appropriate domain names. For example, stainless-steel-widgets.com will mimic the keywords that the prospect has typed into the search engine and will significantly improve the chances of that potential customer clicking on your website.
This approach has many advantages, including a higher search engine ranking, but due to the extra cost of registering multiple domain names can be an unjustifiably expensive strategy. You’ll have to experiment to decide which domain name strategy is best for you.
